How To Wear Scarves

We are often asked about the best ways to wear scarves. Here is a list of our favorite ways to wear scarves as well as instructions for how to do the tying. Most of these take less than a minute to do. And they make the scarf look fantastic!

OBLONG SCARF TIES

Ascot

Put the middle of the scarf on the front of your neck and place the ends over your shoulders onto your back. Cross the scarf against the back of your neck and bring the ends back to the front. Cross the ends again. Keeping the cross in place, grab the end on the top and tuck it through the scarf "collar" that is against the neck (from the bottom, pull up and over the top). Adjust as needed. Here is a video that walks you through this:

Classic Bow

Put the scarf around your neck. Have the right side slightly longer and place over left side. Pull it under and through the "V". Make a loop with the new right side and hold at base. Bring new left side straight across and from the top down, make a ring at base of loop all the way around. From left to right, pull material remaining at end of ring through hole ring made. Adjust as needed. Here's a video that walks you through this:

A Scarfsense Exclusive! Fold scarf in half so that it is half as wide. Put scarf around neck. Make a simple knot on left side close to the end. Bring right side through simple knot from the top and pull through the bottom of the knot. Tighten scarf so that knot is against neck. Keeping knot against the neck, make accordion style pleats on long end of scarf until you reach the knot (sitting at table can make this easier to do). Pull short end of scarf up over the center of the pleats and place in knot from the bottom and pull through to the top. Wear in front or to the side. Here's a video that walks you through this:

Make a loose simple knot in the middle of the scarf. Put the middle of the scarf on the front of your neck and place the ends over your shoulders on to your back. Cross the ends and pull them back to the front. Put each end in the loose knot, one at a time. One, from left to right. The other, from right to left. Adjust as needed by pulling the scarf "collar" against the neck. Here's a video that walks you through this:

Square Knot

Put the scarf around your neck and make a loop at the very end of the left side (should look like the top of a "p") We'll call this the pool. Grab the end of the right side. We'll call this the ferret. The ferret dives into the pool and burrows under the bottom side (closest to you) to get out. He then jumps over the dam on the left side and burrows back into the pool at the base on the top side and then jumps out. The square of the knot often ends up on the bottom, in which case, you flip the scarf over so that it can end up on top. Here's a video that walks you through this:
